TORONTO ROCKS CONCERT
friends
remember

"THE PACT"

warm sand, cool wine
the touch of your hand, as your lips join mine
the sun sinks low
the colours flow
promise me you'll never go

the war is near
and i start to fear
i know you'll be called away
so while your gone i will pray
for you to be back with me some day
but until that day comes i have a pact
i will not fall for another
and you, you will not fall to the ground

"THE LONE SOLDIER"

his child wailed, his wife stood still an waved
as to war he sailed
the men on the boat as well as himself, wondered what fait they had
as the land neared worst fears confirmed
their future they knew was bad

back home his child sat afront a fire, questioning his father's life
in the kitchen his wife set a table for three
for herself, her child and he
but sad as this maybe
that space will never be filled
for that night he was shot and then killed

for this family he is the lone soldier...
never to return from war

"A MAN'S DYING WISH"

crying, dying, painful trying
hands on a rifle, finger on the trigger
a sound is heard, what could it be
is it a screech, a wail, no it is me

at war i am, weapons are fired, bullets fly
i am struck, it's hit my eye
i can not see, they carry me away
to a hospital i must go

death is all that is here
for my life i do fear
for now not only is it my eye
but today i shall die
to death i go

is this how i will go home?
not on my two feet, but in a cedar box
as darkness fills my life and i start to die
please tell my family good-bye

"it's a funny thing, war. never have so many suffered so much so that so few could be so happy."
